TO Supports Microgrant Application

This funding is for municipalities to support local social service agencies, community and/or resident groups, and grassroots or emerging organizations to deliver critical services, supply food, clothing, resources and/or hire additional staff, and find ways to promote social distancing and self-isolation to keep people safe and healthy.

Funding is intended to support a diverse range of vulnerable people in need in our community to address emergency and additional needs arising out of the COVID-19Pandemic. Funding is for the coordination and distribution of emergency supports to small, emerging, and grassroots organizations to secure clothing, food, water, and hygiene-related products and additional needs that groups identify in the application.

 

·       Funds cannot be used to supplement existing programs unless adding a new component that is Covid-19related.

·       Funds must be strictly used towards Covid-19 response

·       Funds can’t be used to duplicate existing programs/services unless serving a different demographic or population

 

The activities your group provides with TO Supports 2020 COVID 19 Relief Fund must take place within the boundaries of the City of Toronto specifically in the Downtown East unless the organization is an Indigenous organization.

There will be a minimum of 8 micro grant recipients, each group receiving a maximum of $4,500 each. Funds set to be released the week of December 21, 2020. The Neighbourhood Group is the Trustee for these grants and will be administering the applications, work plans, and final reports. The Selection Committee will be made up of a collaboration of representatives from social service agencies serving the Downtown East.

 

This micro grant will be distributed to those organizations/groups supporting clients/community members specifically in the Downtown East (Bay St. to DVP, Bloor St. to the Lake).

The program timelines are from December 2020 to February 2021 to respond to the urgent, emergency, unmet needs of vulnerable Torontonians as part of a community response to COVID 19, for activities. Please note that this funding should be used within the time period noted in the request and subsequent full work plan. Successful applicants will be required to submit all original receipts/invoices to The Neighbourhood Group as well as their completed final report. Final reports templates will be sent out first week of February.
