About this Event

SETTING THE TONE FOR SUCCESS:

Creating the Culture for your Team to Thrive

As grassroots and community leaders, we are often responding to urgent community issues and usually don't have the time to build our internal structures and processes.

This day consisting of three workshops is an intentional space for you to build a strong foundation for your work to have maximum impact.

SETTING THE TONE FOR SUCCESS will include:

Session 1: Transform your team, Transform the world

  • This session will help us understand our teams as more than just a space to get work done but as a community guided by shared values. We will learn how a team can create a culture of transparency, accountability, and care that is in the greatest service to ourselves and the communities we serve.

Session 2: Embracing Friction for Growth

  • Grassroots groups face many challenges that can cause friction: lack of funds and resources, limited capacity of team members, and sometimes even the failure of your projects. This reality is the perfect recipe for conflict. This session will focus on understanding how conflict is part of life and it can be used as a generative tool to help you incorporate input to grow your projects and teams. Attendee's will walk away with tools to understand their own conflict styles and how to work as a team to resolve difficult situations.

Session 3: Understanding your Purpose, Measuring your Impact

  • This session will support you in translating your community's needs and your projects impacts with evaluation tools and techniques. You will learn how to use stories and statistics to showcase your strengths and successes to build credibility for continued growth.
